The Irrigation of the West

It is hard to understand the lack of action in providing water to the American West.  Billions upon billions of dollars are wasted on other areas in federal expenditures.  Even assuming a water pipeline costs ten millions dollars per mile and even assuming that a water pipeline would run two thousand miles, then a relevant pipeline would only cost approximately twenty billion dollars.  It is anticipated that solar-powered pumping stations would be deployed as well.

Bringing water westward would not only help with the massive irrigation of millions of unused acres in the United States, but these pipelines would help control flooding on some of the United States’ major rivers.

Irrigation would also help effectuate the prison reform and homeless communities envisioned in Logic’s Dictate.  A community of two million people accommodated by piped water is not a feat too difficult to achieve.  One and a half billion gallons of water (which serves a city the size of Las Vegas with approximately two million residents) is quite achievable as pipelines can easily pipe liquid at 60,000 gallons per minute.  Of course, with that pumping rate, there would be a large excess of water for use of states such as Nevada, Arizona and California.  Rationing would no longer be required which would help immensely with agricultural communities, golfing communities, new residential communities and a variety of other applications.
